Steffen Krämer holds a Diploma in Communication in Social and Economic Contexts from Berlin University of the Arts, and an M.A. in Research Architecture from Goldsmiths University London. He has worked as an independent filmmaker in the fields of art and architecture, documentary film, and advertising. In addition, he has taught courses on media theory and practice at the Brandenburg University of Technology, Bauhaus University Weimar, and Leuphana University Lüneburg. Recently, he has completed his PhD in Media Studies at the University of Hamburg and is currently preparing it for publication. Among his fields of interest are theories of affect, Science and Technology Studies, and orders of geographical and topological knowledge. Presently, his research focuses on the visualization of epidemics in a historical perspective.
