Steffen Krämer holds a Diploma in Communication in Social and Economic Contexts from Berlin University of the Arts, and an M.A. in Research Architecture from Goldsmiths University London. He has worked as an independent filmmaker in the fields of art and architecture, documentary film, and advertising. In addition, he has taught courses on media theory and practice at the Brandenburg University of Technology, Bauhaus University Weimar, and Leuphana University Lüneburg. Currently, he is a PhD fellow in Media Studies at the University of Hamburg at the intersection with Sociology. Among his fields of interest are Science and Technology Studies, media aesthetics, theories of collectivity, and the history of spatial technologies. Presently, his research focuses on the visualization of epidemics in a media-historical perspective.
