The student dorm Goerzallee is located in the southwest of Berlin in Lichterfelde. The apartment complex consists of four buildings, which are embedded in a green area and surrounded by small garden plots. The commute to the FUBiS campus takes about 30 minutes. The city center is accessible in about 40 minutes from the student residences.
The residences are located within walking distance to grocery markets, a number of restaurants and bakeries, as well as doctors' offices. The center of the district Steglitz is within easy reach from the FUBiS campus and the dorm and is located around “Schloßstraße”.
You can find several malls, cafés and a cinema there. The commute takes about 25 minutes from campus via the stop “Rathaus Steglitz”.
The Grunewald or the Schlachtensee are popular day-trip destinations and can be easily reached by bike or public transport starting from the Studierendenwerk.
Students will stay in individual rooms of approx. 12 sqm within an apartment of up to 6 bedrooms, sharing the bathroom and kitchen. The open living structure offers a familiar atmosphere and makes getting to know each other easier. The kitchens are equipped with cooker, fridge, cookware, and dishes.
Each room is furnished with a bed (including bed linen), a desk, bookshelf, a closet, and a chair. Towels are not included, so please bring your own. There is a laundry room with card operated washing machines and dryers available as well.
If you arrive at the dorm late on arrival day, you will need to arrange a meeting with the StudierendenWERK student advisor of the dorm in advance in order to pick up your key and pay the deposit. In this case, a service fee needs to be paid directly to the StudierendenWERK student advisor (contact details will be provided prior to program start). Please note that you may have to book a hotel or hostel if you arrive late during the night.
