Dr. Jan-Henrik Meyer beschäftigt sich mit der Politik und Geschichte der Europäischen Union, insbesondere Fragen von Demokratie, Öffentlichkeiten und Identitäten, sowie der Umwelt- und Energiepolitik. Derzeit arbeitet er als Forscher und Projektmanager an der Universität Kopenhagen im Rahmen eines europäischen kooperativen Projekts zur Geschichte von Kernenergie und Gesellschaft (HoNESt – History of Nuclear Energy and Society). Insbesondere forscht er zu grenzüberschreitenden Auswirkungen von Atomkraft, zur transnationalen Anti-Nuklear-Bewegung und der Geschichte von Atomkraft und Gesellschaft und den Ursprüngen der Energiewende – im Windpionierland Dänemark.
Verschiedenste Einführungs- und Spezialkurse in European Studies hat Meyer in Portsmouth, England, Aarhus, Dänemark und Trondheim, Norwegen unterrichtet, sowie Environmental Studies an der NYU Berlin.
