Dr. Silvia Vega-Llona

Silvia Vega-LLona is Associate Teaching Professor at the Eugene Lang College The New School University, where she teaches theoretical and historical courses on Memory and the Cinema, Transnational Cinema, and Documentary Film. A graduate of UCSD and NYU, she is author of Fear and Healing in the Global City (Editorial del Congreso del Peru, 2005, English edition forthcoming). She is currently completing a book of ethnographic stories, entitled The Beggar with the Prada Shoes: Stories from the Global Sidewalk. From 2004-2008, she was also teaching for the International School for Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam.
