Course description

The continent of Europe encompasses the world’s largest and most complicated economy. This course will focus on present and future business issues facing the entire continent such as: should an European management style be developed instead of the individual national practices that frequently characterize companies, and how and under what circumstances should the European Union expand to Turkey, Ukraine and other countries. In order to provide essential background, this course will also briefly review key European events in modern European History.

Student profile

Students interested in how companies will manage their businesses as the dynamic European economy continues its transformation from national to European markets.

None

Course requirements

Complete reading assignments and discuss in class. Prepare a five-page written assignment, and take two exams.

Grading

Mid-Term Exam: 30%,
Final Exam: 30%
Written Assignment: 20%
Classroom Participation: 20%
